Outreach Homes - Volunteer It Yourself & The ScrewFix Foundation
As part of our ongoing commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment for young people, we embarked on a renovation project with Volunteer It Yourself and The ScrewFix Foundation to transform Outreach Homes into a revitalized space for the residents in our care.
Between the 13th May and 31st May 2024, Outreach Homes experienced a remarkable transformation, thanks to the generous donation from The ScrewFix Foundation and the support from Volunteer It Yourself (VIY).
Over the past four years, we have welcomed a dozen young people into our home. Inevitably, our provision experienced a fair bit of wear and tear. With the help from The ScrewFix Foundation and Volunteer It Yourself, we were able to revitalise our home.
Outreach Homes has been transformed into a warm, welcoming environment where vulnerable young people can find safety and comfort during challenging times. The creation of a personalised space in each room and the addition of an inviting outdoor seating area have enhanced the overall atmosphere of the home. These improvements ensure that our residents have a cozy space to relax and socialise.
Several residents earned a qualification from City and Guilds as recognition for the incredible effort and active participation in the renovation project.
Overall, this project represents a powerful blend of community effort, skill-building, and support for vulnerable youth.
We are so excited to welcome more young people into our care, providing them with the best support and accommodation possible.
